Information for Under 18s

Please note that a climbing centre is a dangerous environment, and visitors of all ages must behave in a safe way at all times, or they will not be permitted to use the centre.

Children aged 16 Years +

No parental consent required to climb, regular adult entrance rules apply.

  • Option 1: previous bouldering experience will be required at Vertical Limit

  • Option 2: they will need to be accompanied on their first visit by an adult member of Vertical Limit who is an experienced boulderer/climber (1:1 supervisor ratio)

  • Option 3: if not an experienced climber, an Introduction Lesson will need to be pre-booked for their first visit, after which they can climb unsupervised. Sessions are on Mondays and Fridays at 5pm cost £12.50

Children aged 12-15 Years

Can climb unsupervised.

  • Option 1: they must bring a printed consent form signed by a parent or guardian AND previous bouldering experience at Vertical Limit will be required

  • Option 2: they will need to be accompanied on their first visit by an adult member of Vertical Limit who is an experienced boulderer/climber (1:1 supervisor ratio) AND they must bring a printed consent form signed by parent or guardian

  • Option 3: if not an experienced climber, an Introduction Lesson will need to be pre-booked for their first visit AND they must bring a printed consent form signed by parent or guardian Sessions are on Mondays and Fridays at 5pm cost £12.50

Children aged under 12 Years

Can only climb under direct adult supervision at all times.

  • Option 1: they will need to be accompanied on each visit by an adult member of Vertical Limit who is an experienced boulderer/climber (1:1 supervisor ratio) AND they must bring a printed consent form signed by parent or guardian.

Please note that the 1:1 adult supervisor must have previous bouldering experience (1 month in another centre, or at least 4 visits at Vertical Limit) and remain in the child's company at all times whilst in the centre.
