Since opening in 2004, Vertical Limit has attracted a friendly and passionate community of climbers. It’s not just about awesome climbing here, we’re a welcoming supportive community ready to help climbers of all levels improve and develop. Just step on to the bouldering mat for proof - you’ll see a group of friendly faces cheering on other climbers and offering tips.
Many of our customers have made long-lasting friendships here and some have even found love.
Whether you’re new to climbing, or an experienced climber looking for a new challenge amongst an awesome crowd of like-minded people, Vertical Limit is the place to be.
“Vertical Limit has a unique atmosphere. It’s a more comfortable place than other climbing centres. Other places feel a lot more formal.” - Dave K.
Dave C and Dave K - ‘The Dave Duo’ - are two of the friendly faces you will see here multiple times a week. They are currently using our climbing wall to train for a big climbing trip to Yosemite. They’ve been friends for years, even housemates for a time, now they’re off on a big climbing adventure, and they met here in Vertical Limit.
Dave K started bouldering and climbing at Vertical Limit when he moved to Worcester. He says this is “a really friendly place to meet people”, and says that he met most of his long-term friends in Worcester on the Vertical Limit bouldering mat.
Don’t have a climbing partner? No problem.
Shaun has been climbing at Vertical Limit for three years. He says he learnt to climb here, enjoyed a lesson on how to belay with the Vertical Limit staff, and has become “addicted to climbing”. He has tried other indoor climbing centres and says “in some [of these centres] people don’t even say hello”.
Shaun has chosen to stick with the “friendly” community at Vertical Limit where “everyone’s happy to have a chat”. He has made new friends here who have invited him on climbing trips.
Zak describes the Vertical Limit community as “hugely social” and says that other climbers have helped him out with bouldering routes when stuck.
“I’ve met a lot of good people here. Climbers and staff are really helpful.” - Lewis
“Bouldering at Vertical Limit has changed my life. I’m fitter, happier and less single!” - Dan
Dan has been coming to Vertical Limit for over four years and met his girlfriend Ella on the bouldering mat.
Ella says she was struggling with her bouldering technique and, in true Vertical Limit community style, Dan offered to help her out. “Whenever I got stuck, I’d call Dan over.” This led to them getting to know each other during weekly climbing sessions, and Ella eventually asked Dan out.
New to climbing? You’ll be made to feel welcome in our friendly and helpful community of climbers.
Ellie and John have been climbing at Vertical Limit for just over a month. Ellie says she chooses to climb here over other indoor climbing centres in the local area because of our smaller, friendly community. “I feel comfortable here and like [being part of] a smaller community of people. The idea of going to a bigger place is a bit overwhelming.”
John says he already knows “most of the crew” and likes the fact that there’s a group of friendly climbers that come here every week. “Staff are ace. There’s a chilled out vibe. You can come to hang out and climb - no pressure!”
It’s not just about climbing, it’s about community.
Our customers come for our challenging and varied routes and stay for the community. There are no ‘cliques’ here. You’ll find friends fast whether you come to climb in a group or on your own.
“Vertical Limit holds a special place for me. I was able to properly get into climbing here and have made friends I have stayed in touch with since moving away. Climbing at Vertical Limit has led to many memorable adventures.” - Tom
Many of our customers take the skills they have learnt on our walls and use them to climb outside in the UK and abroad. Tom has been on awesome climbing trips in Riglos and Chulilla with the friends he met at Vertical Limit.
